Frequently Asked Questions
HOW ARE PORTRAIT, EVENT, AND SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY DIFFERENT?
With portraits I help clients think through outfit choices, locations, and other details of their session. Attention is given to lighting, posing, and composition of each photo. Event photography is aimed at capturing the candid, real-life moments of the event: attention is given to capturing a variety of images from the event - from people to details - that will help you keep the memories forever. Sports photography is aimed at capturing your athlete in action. Attention is given to shooting from various angles and capturing the real emotion on your athlete's face before, during and after the contest.
In addition, sports and event sessions can generate a greater number of images than a portrait session. However, while all types of photographs receive a basic level of editing, portraits generally receive much more in-depth and specialized editing than event or sports photos.
HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO HEAR FROM YOU AFTER OUR PORTRAIT SESSION?
You can expect to hear from me within 21 days after the session, at which time you will be given access to your personal proof gallery.
HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO HEAR FROM YOU AFTER SHOOTING A SPORTS OR OTHER EVENT?
Since these events tend to generate more images, this will depend on the length of time of the event. Half-day or shorter events will usually take 14-21 days. Full or multi-day events will usually take 21-30 days.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE PORTRAIT PROOFING SESSION?
When your portrait session proof gallery is ready, I will meet with your for your proofing consultation. At this time you will select the images that you would like to purchase as digital files or have made into prints, photo books, or specialized wall art. We will go over each image and discuss any specialized edits that you would like to have done.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PORTRAIT PROOFING SESSION?
After you have selected which proofs you want to purchase and in what format, I will do full edits on these images. If you are purchasing jpeg digital files, they will be made available for download or delivered on a flash drive. If you are purchasing prints or products, I will design and order them. Delivery time will vary depending on the products purchased.

WHAT IF YOU GET PNEUMONIA OR ARE IN AN ACCIDENT OR BREAK YOUR LEG OR FOR SOME OTHER REASON BECOME UNABLE TO MAKE OUR SCHEDULED PHOTO SESSION?
This has never happened yet, and I pray it never will! But on the very rare occasion that I might be unable to make a scheduled portrait session, sporting contest or event, the following steps will be taken:
For portrait sessions: A full refund of your session fee will be offered, and a new session will be scheduled at your earliest convenience.
For sports contests or events. I will make every effort to have your event photographed by another skilled photographer. If I am unable to schedule a substitute photographer, you will receive a full refund of any monies paid to date.
